Miller Marina - Boyne City - 1959 to 1975

Purchased in 1959 and owned and operated by the late Walter & Teresa Miller, the marina was Gary's introduction to business.  Located on Glenwood beach , the family was a dealer for Chris Craft, Clipper Craft (Four Winns), Glastron, Slick Craft & Mercruiser.  Around1966 they picked up Kawasaki & Triumph, which eventually led to . . .

US 31 Sales Company - Bayshore - 1971 to 1982

The family purchased the former Burnett's Tractor Sales building in Bayshore in 1971 and moved the Kawasaki & Triumph franchise to the highway location.   After selling Kawasaki motorcycles & snowmobiles, Triumph motorcycles and Raider snowmobiles for about three years, Gary and Ginger acquired a Subaru franchise around 1974, and International Scout around 1977.  US 31 Sales was sold in 1982 after the family business out grew the family and Walter & Teresa were looking towards retirement.

Miller Auto Sales - Petoskey - 1994 to 2008

Gary and Ginger, along with their son Scott, took advantage of an opportunity to own another small family business in Petoskey and bought the former Mouch's Auto Sales.  Miller Auto Sales opened in February 1994 with six vehicles.  Additional adjoining property was purchased in 1997 and the business slowly grew to handle 30-35 used cars, trucks, vans & SUV's.  In 2005 Scott started selling a few used motorcycles and snowmobiles as a hobby, and in January 2009, Scott & his wife Jodi bought the business and merged "Scott's Cycles n' Sleds" with Miller Auto Sales to create . . .

Miller's US 31 Sales, LLC - 2009 to . . .

Scott & Jodi hope to continue the family history & heritage and will carry on the name and reputation as the third generation steps up.

They welcomed the 4th generation Miller in August 2008

Miller's US 31 Sales, LLC moves - July 2009

Miller's US 31 Sales moved across the street from it's former location  in July of '09.  The purchase of the new building gave us 2.5 times the space, a real showroom, separate offices and a much needed increase in visibility.  With the extra space, we plan to . . . .

International Sales

August 2008 - Fly & ride, Honda Goldwing to St John's, Newfoundland

November 2009 - "FedEx'd" a Ski Doo Mini Z to a ski resort in Switzerland 

January 2010 - Shipped a Harley Nightster to Miami, then on a boat to Grand Cayman Island

January 2010 - Shipped a Can Am Outlander 800 Max to New Jersey, then on a boat to Russia

March 2010 - Intrepid Resolute R chopper, ridden back to North Pole, AK  (I know, not international)

April 2010 - Referral from St John's Newfoundland, another Fly & Ride Honda Goldwing

March 2011 - Sold a Harley Softail Deluxe to Poland, via truck to Detroit, rail to port, & freighter to Denmark

April 2011 - Sold a Harley Softail Springer to Queensland, Australia

June 2011 - Sold a Ski Doo GTX550 to Vladivostok, Siberia via an exporter/delaer in Hollywood, FL

August 2011 - Sold a Yamaha RS Venture to Moscow, Russia via an exporter/dealer in the Bronx, NY

August 2011 - Sold a 2008 Harley CrossBones to De Bilt, the Netherlands.

I am holding it here until next August, picking up Onno at the airport, and he's riding the Harley to Sturgis.  Onno is a photographer/reporter, so we should have some cool pics after the rally.

October 2011 - Sold a 2009 Harley Fat Bob to Broek fr, the Netherlands

Onno's friend Gerrit, sounded like a good plan, so Gerrit is in!
